IPL 2025 Suspended for One Week Due to Escalating India-Pakistan Border Tensions

The BCCI has announced that the IPL 2025 has been suspended for one week with immediate effect due to rising cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan.

In a statement released Friday afternoon, board secretary Devajit Saikia said, “Further updates regarding the revised schedule and venues will be shared after a comprehensive assessment in consultation with relevant authorities and stakeholders.”

The IPL Governing Council made the decision after thorough discussions with franchise representatives, broadcasters, sponsors, and fan groups. Saikia emphasized that while the BCCI has full confidence in the armed forces, it deemed it necessary to act in the collective interest of all involved.
