Iran's foreign minister denounces "warmongering" U.S. over strikes targeting its nuclear facilities.

Iran’s foreign minister has strongly condemned recent U.S. strikes on the country's nuclear facilities, warning that the "warmongering" White House will bear full responsibility for the fallout.

At a press conference in Istanbul on Sunday, Abbas Araghchi described the attacks as "brutal military aggression" against Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, calling them a "grave, outrageous, and unprecedented violation" of the United Nations Charter and international law.

"The lawless and warmongering administration in Washington is solely and fully accountable for the dangerous consequences and far-reaching implications of this act of aggression," Araghchi said.

He cautioned that international silence in the face of such blatant hostility would push the world towards "an unprecedented level of danger and chaos," adding, "Humanity has advanced too far to allow a lawless bully to drag us back to the law of the jungle."

Araghchi urged the UN Security Council to hold an emergency session to "unequivocally condemn this criminal act of aggression by the United States" and to ensure Washington is held accountable for violating core UN principles and international norms.

He also reaffirmed that Iran would defend itself by all necessary means against both U.S. military aggression and what he termed the "reckless and unlawful actions of the Israeli regime."
