"Prakash Raj Responds to Fawad Khan’s Abir Gulaal Controversy: 'You Can't Ban Films, Unless…'"

Fawad Khan’s much-anticipated return to Hindi cinema with Abir Gulaal has hit a roadblock, as the film will no longer release in India following the recent Pahalgam attack. Co-starring Vaani Kapoor, the film was originally slated for a May 9 release.

Veteran actor Prakash Raj, known for his outspoken views, addressed the situation in an interview with The Lallantop. Speaking out against the ban, he stated: 

"I'm not in favor of banning any film—whether it's from the right wing or promotes a particular ideology. Let the people decide. They have the right to choose. You can't ban films unless it's pornography or involves child abuse. But a film's ideas or themes? Let them be seen," he said.

He further criticized the growing culture of outrage and threats in the film industry, saying:

"Nowadays, anyone can claim they’re hurt. ‘I’ll cut off Deepika Padukone’s nose! I’ll behead her!’ And for what? Over colors in a song like Besharam Rang? Shah Rukh Khan was targeted over something so trivial. They can stir up controversy over anything—and the people in power are allowing it, fostering a climate of fear in society."* .......See More
